Communication: types, methods, elements & barriers

Narrated lesson · press play

A business runs on messages — instructions to workers, orders to suppliers, replies to customers. But a message only works if it is received AND understood, and if the sender gets feedback. In this lesson we learn what effective communication really is and why it matters, the difference between internal and external and between one-way and two-way communication, the ways and methods a business can choose, the elements of the communication process drawn as a chain, and the barriers that block a message — and exactly how to overcome each one.
