Cold War crises: Cuba & Vietnam

The Cold War never became a direct war between the superpowers — but twice it came terrifyingly close, or turned very hot indeed. We'll live through the thirteen days of the Cuban Missile Crisis, when the world stood on the edge of nuclear war, and ask who really came out on top. Then we'll turn to Vietnam, to understand why the mighty United States lost a war to a small, poor nation — and the terrible scars the fighting left on the land itself.
