External influences: the PESTEL model
Narrated lesson · press play
Every business in Namibia sits inside a world it cannot control — a repo rate decision in Windhoek, a drought in the Kunene, a new labour law, a mobile-money app. In this lesson you learn the PESTEL model letter by letter: Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal. You will use it on a real Walvis Bay fish factory and judge the effect on BOTH the business and the workers who depend on it. At AS level the marks are not for listing the six letters — they are for evaluating which factor matters most and why, so we practise exactly that.
What you'll learn in this lesson
By the end you should be able to (NSSCAS Business Studies (AS) 4.1):
- evaluate the effect of external influences on the business and its workforce, referring to the PESTEL model
