Why do cattle keep chewing long after the grass is swallowed, while a pig does not? The answer is inside their stomachs. In this lesson we open up our farm animals — with clear labelled pictures, not a knife — and name every part of two systems: how a ruminant (cattle) and a non-ruminant (pig) are built for digesting food, and how a cow and a bull are built for making young. Today is all about structure: the names and the places of the parts.
